What an actuation point is
It is the travel distance where a keypress registers. Traditional mechanical switches fire at a fixed depth chosen by the manufacturer. On Hall Effect boards you can move that point per key in software.
Shallow for gaming, deep for typing
Set WASD to a hair trigger so taps land instantly. Keep letter keys slightly deeper so accidental brushes while reaching for the mouse do not type garbage. This per key tuning is impossible on regular boards.
- 0.5 to 1mm range suits fast tap heavy shooters
